Whole Body Balancing
Whole body balancing is an energy balancing process utilizing Touch for
Health and Jin Shin Jyutsu. Touch for Health (TFH) is a system of
balancing posture, attitude and life energy to relieve stress, aches and
pains, feel and function better, be more effective, clarify and achieve
your goals and enjoy your life as you should be living it! In its
simplest form Touch For Health uses muscle testing (kinesiology) to
balance energy and performance. Jin Shin Jyutsu is a harmonizing
and balancing of the body’s life energy rhythms by gentle, loving,
non-invasive touch of the hands to various area of the body. It has a
very calming and relaxing effect. Both of these are based on ancient
traditions of acupressure.
Touch For Health was developed by John F. Thie, DC (1933-2005) in 1970
to aid people in their own self-care program. It empowers the individual
to be productive in their own wellness without replacing any branch of
the health care system.
Jin Shin Jyutsu, an ancient art passed down by word of mouth, was
brought to the forefront in the U.S. by Mary Burmeister (1918-2008) in
the 1950’s and started teaching others this art in the 1960’s.
Using muscle testing (kinesiology), TFH is based on Chinese energy and
acupressure massage principles. By muscle testing the 14 major meridians
energy blocks can be located and balanced with a variety of simple,
effective techniques. Using these techniques can improve posture and
stimulate the body's own healing ability and let the ‘flow’ of energy
throughout the body be continuous.
Jin Shin Jyutsu works with a set of 26 points, called Safety Energy
Locks (SELs) along the body’s energy pathways. This gentle, simple
process uses both hands to hold a combination of the SELs. The hands
are like little jumper cables because of all the energy they can produce
and can have a profound effect on both the person receiving the gift and
the one giving it. There are many self-help techniques that can be
taught so a person can take these skills home with them.
Both of these are non-invasive processes , requires no special
equipment, clients remain clothed and the process is done standing,
sitting, or lying down. The process can take anywhere from ½ hour to 1
hour depending on a client’s goals or issues. Both of these techniques
are about finding and clearing energy blocks in the body.
